Friendship Forged Out Of Distrust

Jack Henridge, a Federation Directorate pilot in the 26th century, crash lands on the planet Muldhar in dense fog during a thunderstorm. Injured, he takes shelter in a cave where he meets Bituin, a primitive alien and possibly the last of her kind. She’s been badly injured as well. They’re eventually rescued and return to his ship. They build a life together, eventually moving to a deep space station after an attempted takeover on that station plus others.
